The word "ambush 埋伏” carries powerful visual connotations. It suggests hidden danger, yet also exudes an indescribable calm. Much like the phrase "Ambush from Ten Sides 十面埋伏,” the name itself tells an entire story without the need for any further narrative.

Ambush Boxing, a long fist style, flows smoothly but conceals lethal intent. This martial art comprises eight distinctive footwork patterns, combined with hooked hands and stance techniques, where the true ambush lies in the subtle details.

While the movements are fluid, they intentionally create tension. The essence of Ambush Boxing is captured in its opening stance: "The fist rises from beneath the feet.” 拳從腳下起

Thorough Loops Ambush Jacket Design Feature

Fly by Knight’s Thorough Loops Ambush Jacket draws inspiration from this martial art, shedding the short-length, narrow-sleeved design of the classic Thorough Loops Jacket. Instead, it retains the flowing, full-back cut and interconnected design, allowing the body to move freely while maintaining poise and dignity when necessary.

The wide sleeves extend past the elbows, with open cuffs that allow for graceful movement as the breeze of autumn sets in. Like a martial artist practicing Ambush Boxing, the body moves with ease, expanding and contracting effortlessly, while retaining an air of elegance.

In addition to the outer pockets, concealed pockets have been added to both sides, offering ample space to carry a slim notebook and pen, rather than a dagger. There is also a hidden inner pocket for storing small documents or cards. With its secure zipper, you can run freely without worry.

The jacket incorporates Fly by Knight’s signature loop emblem, meticulously embroidered along the spine, a subtle reminder of the importance of one's posture. This new creation from Fly by Knight draws its inspiration from Ambush Boxing, the ancient and dynamic martial art.

The founder, Daniel Huang, is a martial artist, kung fu instructor, and also the founder of Fly by Knight Courtyard Hotel, where he used to teach his guests kung fu before COVID.

Daniel found his passion for martial arts when he was a teen. Yet, it was not until he met the grandmaster, Adam Hsu, did he have a huge breakthrough. Hsu not only taught him Long Fist & Baji Quan, but also the philosophy and history of kung fu, including what a real kung fu attire looks like. It was where the journey started.
